Output: Set to " speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)". In WXtoImg just set soundcard to whatever audio jack you have the radio plugged into.) (Btw if you are getting audio from your physical radio then you don't need SDR# at all. Leave it as whatever it is, or set it to " Microsoft sound mapper" if you really want to set it to something.
Input: Not used if signal is coming from RTL-SDR. So in your opinion, which one should I use for input and output? And the "asio4all" is a driver for the recording software I used to use on this computer, but I dont use it anymore so the asio4all will be uninstalled. OK the "usb audio codec" ones marked with asterisk (*) are for the connection of my HF radio and these are only used for the HF radio so I know I dont need these for satellites and sdrsharp. speakers (realtek high definition audio) stereo mix (realtek high definition audio) Here are all my settings that SDR Sharp shows: I used to have that "VB virtual cable" but it was just complicating things. But you are right, it is extremely confusing and I keep missing good satellite passes putzing around with settings. Or I can use my USB Dongle and both will have different input/output settings in SDR sharp. I can use either the audio (with audio cable) from the back of my VHF radio, and running into the input on soundcard on back of PC. I figured using the dongle would be better quality and more accurate decode. But SDR sharp and dongle isnt cooperating. The only thing that worked for me was using a regular audio cable between my VHF ham radio and the computer.
Why are there so many input/output choices? There are no clear directions online how to set these. I just missed a good satellite pass cause of this. I can't get WxtoImg to communicate with SDR sharp. And when I start SDR sharp I have to redo most settings.I have restarted at least 15 times before I gave up cause it keeps crashing. I am trying to use my RTL-SDR dongle to receive and decode NOAA 19. The problem is input/output settings in SDR sharp. I am having a terrible time getting this to work.
